High-Value · Tooling · GSE · Composites · AOG

High-value components, tooling, ground support equipment, and MRO parts moved on dedicated trucks — no cross-docks, no transfers, no other freight on the trailer.

Aerospace Freight Fails at the Transfer

A machined component with an eighteen-week lead time doesn’t get damaged on the highway. It gets damaged on a dock, at a cross-dock, on the third forklift that touches it, by someone who doesn’t know what’s in the crate. Every transfer is a chance to lose or break something that can’t be replaced on your schedule.

Book Freight arranges truckload and expedited freight for aerospace suppliers, machine shops, tooling manufacturers, MRO operations, and defense contractors. High-value freight moves on dedicated trucks, origin to destination, on carriers vetted for cargo coverage that actually matches the declared value — not just the cheapest number on the board.

We’re in Alabama. Huntsville, Redstone, and the contractor and supplier base around them are lanes we know rather than lanes we look up.

Aerospace & Defense Freight FAQ

How do you protect aerospace components in transit?
Dedicated trucks. No cross-docking, no terminal transfers, no other freight on the trailer — one truck, one driver, origin to destination. Aerospace freight doesn’t get damaged on the highway, it gets damaged on a dock by the third forklift that touches it. Taking the transfers out removes most of the risk.
Can you move high-value freight?
Yes — and the declared value is what determines which carriers can legally cover it. Standard carrier cargo coverage runs around $100,000, and the pool thins fast above that; a carrier whose limit doesn’t cover your freight isn’t capacity, he’s exposure. Send the declared value with the lane and we source against it. If the number is beyond what we can find coverage for, you’ll hear that before the load is tendered rather than after a claim.
We have an AOG. What do you need from us?
The part location, the destination, and the dimensions. You’ll get a fast answer on what can physically be there and when — depending on size, that’s a sprinter, a straight truck, or team drivers running direct with no relay. Worth knowing: on a true AOG, truck usually wins only on regional moves. Beyond a few hundred miles, air courier is faster and we’ll tell you that instead of selling you a truck.
Can you move tooling and assembly fixtures?
Yes. Tooling, jigs, and fixtures are heavy and frequently oversize, which usually means step deck, double drop, or a permit. Send crated dimensions, weight, and lift points and we’ll tell you what it needs before we quote it — and we’ll ask how it’s being loaded and unloaded, because that’s what actually decides whether the move works.
Do you handle prepreg and composite materials?
Yes. Prepreg out of the freezer is on a clock, and a warm trailer wastes the material. It moves on a reefer with the set point confirmed, the trailer pre-cooled, and the unit running continuous rather than cycle. Tell us the required temperature and the out-time budget and we’ll plan the transit inside it.
Can you deliver to a base or a secure facility?
Yes, but the gate procedure needs to be worked before the driver is sitting at it. Bases, arsenals, and secure sites have credentialing, escort, and access requirements that vary by facility. Tell us the site and what it requires and we’ll make sure the carrier and driver meet it before dispatch.
Do you serve the Huntsville aerospace and defense corridor?
Yes. We’re an Alabama brokerage, and the Huntsville corridor — the arsenal, the space and defense contractor base, and the supplier network around them — is home territory. These aren’t lanes we look up on a map.
One truck.
No transfers.
Send the part, the dimensions, the declared value, and the date. You’ll get a dedicated truck and a straight answer on whether we’re the right fit.
