How We Handle Renewable Freight
- Route engineering comes before a rate. On a blade or a nacelle, the route is the job. Bridge capacity, turning radius, overhead clearance, and state restrictions get worked before anyone quotes a number, because a number quoted without them is fiction.
- Permits, escorts, and curfews planned months out. Superload permits take time. States say no. Travel windows close. Renewable freight is planned on a calendar, not on a phone call the day before.
- Site access is surveyed, not assumed. Utility-scale sites are frequently at the end of a road that was never built for this. Whether the truck can physically turn into the site is a question that has to be answered before the truck leaves.
- Delivery is sequenced to the crane. A crane on standby is the most expensive thing on a wind site. Components arrive in install order, staged against the erection schedule — not dumped on site to be sorted out later.
- Battery systems go to carriers verified for Class 9. Containerized BESS and lithium modules are regulated. Hazmat on the authority, endorsement on the license, documentation confirmed before pickup.
- High-value components go to vetted carriers only. A damaged inverter or a dropped nacelle is not a freight claim, it’s a project delay. Carriers are vetted for equipment, insurance, and experience with the component before we tender it.
