Freight

Tier 1 & Tier 2 · Line-Down Expedite · Tooling · Team Drivers

Freight for a supply chain measured in minutes — stampings, tooling, interiors, and powertrain moving to plants that don’t have room to store a mistake.

A Down Line Costs More Per Hour Than the Freight Costs Total

Automotive runs lean by design. There is no buffer inventory, no back room full of spare stampings, and no tolerance for a truck that shows up tomorrow. When a Tier 1 misses a delivery window, the cost isn’t the freight bill — it’s an assembly line standing still and a chargeback that dwarfs whatever you saved on the rate.

Book Freight arranges truckload and expedited freight for Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers, tooling shops, and aftermarket distributors moving into and out of the Southeast’s assembly plants — Mercedes in Tuscaloosa, Honda in Lincoln, Hyundai in Montgomery, Mazda-Toyota in Huntsville, and the supplier base built around them.

We’re based in Birmingham. These are our lanes.

Automotive Freight FAQ

Our line is down. What can you actually do right now?
Send us the part location, the destination, and the dimensions and we’ll come back fast with what’s actually available. Depending on the size of the part, that’s a sprinter, a straight truck, or team drivers running direct with no relay. You’ll get real capacity information, not a number that falls apart when we try to cover it.
Do you serve the Alabama assembly plants?
Yes. We’re based in Birmingham, and the Southeast plant corridor — Tuscaloosa, Lincoln, Montgomery, Huntsville — plus the Tier 1 and Tier 2 supplier base around them is home territory for us. These aren’t lanes we look up. They’re lanes we run.
Can you move stamping dies and tooling?
Yes. Dies, molds, and fixtures are heavy and frequently oversize, which usually means step deck, double drop, or a permit. Send crated dimensions, weight, and lift points and we’ll tell you what it needs before we quote it — and we’ll ask how it’s being loaded and unloaded, because that’s what actually decides whether the move works.
Do you handle EV batteries?
Yes. Lithium battery modules and packs fall under DOT Class 9, which means the carrier needs hazmat on the authority and the driver needs the endorsement. We verify both before tendering and confirm the documentation is correct before pickup.
Can you handle returnable racks and empties?
Yes, and it’s worth planning up front rather than after they pile up at the plant. The return loop only works if the empties actually move. Tell us the rack program and we’ll build the back leg into the plan.
How do you make sure a plant delivery appointment is hit?
By building the transit around the appointment instead of hoping it works out, and by putting the load on carriers vetted for on-time record rather than the cheapest number on the board. If the window can’t be hit, you’ll hear it from us while you still have time to do something about it.
